University Loan Program - Trust and Care Rwanda

University Loan Support

Trust and Care Rwanda (TCR) previously implemented a University Loan Support Program aimed at increasing access to higher education for academically talented students from vulnerable families. The program provided financial assistance to students who had successfully completed secondary education but were unable to pursue university studies due to financial constraints.

About University Loan Program

The initiative particularly supported students who demonstrated strong academic potential yet did not qualify for government scholarships or came from families unable to afford university fees. Through interest-free loans and flexible repayment arrangements, the program helped many young people continue their education and work toward their professional aspirations.

However, the program has currently been phased out due to limited funding and financial sustainability challenges. Despite this, TCR remains committed to exploring future opportunities and partnerships that can help revive educational support initiatives for vulnerable students in Rwanda.

Key Program Components

Our university loan program is designed to be accessible, sustainable, and transformative.

Interest-Free Loans

All loans are provided at 0% interest, eliminating the financial burden of loan repayment that often discourages students from pursuing higher education.

Flexible Repayment

Repayment begins only after graduation, with terms tailored to each graduate's employment situation. This ensures graduates can establish themselves before beginning repayments.

Comprehensive Support

Beyond financial assistance, we provide academic mentoring, career guidance, and professional development opportunities to ensure student success.
